From FAI/CIVL:
Due to the coronavirus threat, in agreement with the CIVL and FAI, the organisers of the World Hang-Gliding Class 1 Women, 2, 5 and Sport championships have suspended the event that was to take part in Groveland, USA, from April 19 to May 1.
Alternative solutions are being studied. The most likely is a one-year postponement. The event would then take place in April 2021. The organisers and the CIVL will keep you informed of the decision taken as soon as possible.
We extend our regrets to the pilots and organisers regarding this unfortunate situation and the impact on the planned event.
The entire U.S. team, and all competitors from around the world are very disappointed by this. We plan to regroup and look forward to competing one year later in what will now be the 2021 Women’s World Championships.
We thank everyone for their continued support! Please be safe and well.
